Andrew Burr  

Policy Advisor, U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office

Andrew Burr is a Policy Advisor in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office, and co-lead for DOE’s Better Communities Alliance, a key initiative to strengthen the ability of American cities and counties nationwide to achieve their energy and economic goals.

He was previously director of policy for the Institute for Market Transformation, a nonprofit energy efficiency advocacy organization, where he launched and co-directed the City Energy Project, a $20 million initiative to advance clean energy progress in many of the nation’s largest cities.

Prior to his time at the Institute for Market Transformation, Burr held positions in corporate marketing at CoStar Group, a global real estate information, and technology company.

Burr has been quoted by national media including the New York Times, USA Today, and Governing Magazine, and has presented internationally on U.S. clean energy policymaking in Europe and China.
