Andrew Kent owns Andy's Kars. He started the business in November 2002 because of the negative experiences he had with other mechanics. Kent has a disability, so he has struggled with needing special requirements of adaptations for his vehicle. It was so difficult to get good service or a straight answer from anyone, let alone find a provider that took the time to understand his challenges or requirements.

Most of the Andy’s Kars team have experienced this level of discrimination as well, because of challenges within their lives and have all decided that the customer should be treated in the way they wish to be treated.

Andy's Kars has also won several awards for their training programs for disadvantaged and disabled young people and holds a series of evening training programs for all ages and abilities, male and female.

In 2015, Andy was awarded the Institute of the Motoring Industry award for Outstanding Individual Achievement. This award was given to the inspiring business founder to celebrate his work in the auto industry.
