Award-Winning Human Rights Author, Lawyer & Entrepreneur; Author of 25 Million Sparks, a Financial Times Book of the Year

Andrew Leon Hanna is a first-generation Egyptian-American attorney, entrepreneur, author, and international human rights advocate. He authored "25 Million Sparks: The Untold Story of Refugee Entrepreneurs" (Cambridge University Press), which is recognized as a Financial Times Best Book of the Year and achieved the Financial Times and McKinsey Bracken Bower Prize in London.

Hanna is a pivotal figure in several initiatives aimed at supporting and investing in underrepresented entrepreneurs. He is the founder and CEO of Mona, a venture that invests in underrepresented entrepreneurs, and co-founder and CEO of DreamxAmerica, an initiative that supports first-generation, refugee, and immigrant entrepreneurs. DreamxAmerica has facilitated the advancement of at least $350,000 in interest-free loans to small entrepreneurs and has produced a film streamed on PBS and nominated for an Emmy Award in Chicago. Additionally, he co-founded Sawa Impact Labs, a web3 enterprise connecting underrepresented artists globally.

Hanna has a distinguished academic and professional background. He received a J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor for the Harvard Law Review. He interned at the Justice Department and the White House, showcasing his commitment to public service and legal expertise. Hanna’s insights and experiences make him a respected speaker on topics including refugee entrepreneurs, the dignity of immigrants and refugees, and investment in underrepresented entrepreneurs and brands.
