Mr. Popel joined Greylock Capital Management in 2008 and is primarily focused on distressed and high-yield debt of sovereign and corporate issuers in Central, Eastern and Peripheral Europe.

Prior to joining Greylock Capital, Mr. Popel was an investment banking analyst at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., where he was a member of the Leveraged Finance and Financial Sponsors Group. He was primarily involved in LBO financings, recapitalizations, restructurings and mergers and acquisitions. The transactions included both high yield and distressed corporate issuers with a principal focus on logistics, healthcare, automotive and the real estate sector.

Mr. Popel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance (summa cum laude) from Rutgers University.
