Called "America's satire king" by The Daily Beast, Andy Borowitz is the most popular online satirist in the nation. His website, The Borowitz Report, is an Internet sensation, read by millions around the world and syndicated in newspapers across the country, earning him the first-ever National Press Club Award for humor.
Borowitz's humor also appears regularly in The New Yorker, where he started writing in 1998 and has since become one of its most prolific and well-regarded contributors. His work has been collected in many anthologies and in five successful humor books of his own, two of which were finalists for the Thurber Prize for American Humor.
An acclaimed stand-up comedian, he has played to critical raves and packed houses from New York to Sydney, and has emceed such high-profile events as the nationally televised National Book Awards. He has made countless television and radio appearances including on CNN, MSNBC, PBS, Comedy Central, and National Public Radio's "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me."
In addition to his work as a writer and performer, Borowitz has had a hugely successful career in Hollywood, creating and producing the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which launched the acting career of Will Smith, and producing the Oscar-nominated film Pleasantville, inspiring Esquire to name him one of the 25 most powerful producers in Hollywood. He has also acted in several films, including Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda.
Borowitz is a graduate of Harvard College, where he was President of The Harvard Lampoon, wrote the Hasty Pudding show, and graduated magna cum laude.
