In 2014, "Details Magazine" called the show, “compulsively engrossing,” while touting Cohen as “possibly the smartest man on TV;” GQ describes “WWHL” as “the most primitively authentic ting on television” and TV Guide thinks it’s late night’s “unlikeliest success story.”

In November 2014, he became a New York Times best-selling author for a third time with the release of his latest book, "The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look At a Shallow Year" published by Henry Holt. Cohen achieved similar success with both the hardcover (May 2012) and the paperback (May 2013) versions of his first book, titled, "Most Talkative: Stories from the Frontlines of Pop Culture."

Cohen started at Bravo in 2004 as Vice President, Original Programming and most recently, served as Bravo’s Executive Vice President of Development and Talent from November 2011 to January 2014.

Cohen received an Emmy Award when season six of "Top Chef" won Outstanding Reality Competition Program at the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards and has been nominated for 17 additional Emmy Awards as Executive Producer of "Project Greenlight," "Project Runway," "Top Chef" and "Queer Eye." In 2005, Cohen was awarded a Peabody Award for his role as Executive Producer of the TRIO documentary "The N Word" and another in 2008 as an Executive Producer of "Project Runway." He spent ten years (1990-2000) as a producer at CBS News, working on "CBS This Morning" and "48 Hours."

In 2011 and 2012, he hosted the “Miss USA” and “Miss Universe” pageants live on NBC. In June of 2013 he was named to Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business” List. In December of 2012 GQ Magazine named Cohen one of the “25 Best Dressed Men of the Year.” And in 2010, he was listed as one of TV Guide’s “25 Most Influential People in Television.” Cohen has interviewed Lady Gaga for Glamour Magazine, Rihanna live on Facebook, Jerry Seinfeld on AOL.com, and Martha Stewart at the 92nd St Y. In 2018, Cohen appeared in an episode of "Riverdale."
