Emmy Nominated Director, National Geographic Photographer & Marine Conservationist

Andy Mann is an Emmy nominated director, National Geographic photographer & marine conservationist whose imagery is helping tell the story of our rapidly changing planet. His work alongside Sea Legacy, National Geographic Pristine Seas, Ocean X and others are highly decorated and have helped influence marine protected areas around the world. His team was recently awarded the Crystal Compass Award from the Royal Geographic Society leading to the designation of the world largest Arctic National Park in Franz Josef Land, Russia.

Andy's work with dangerous sharks has put him in the world spotlight as a voice for shark conservation and seen here for Apple, Maxim Magazine, Gear Patrol, The Daily Beast and more. Andy's quest for photographing sharks has taken him to the bottom of the ocean in tiny submersibles and redefined free-diving at the surface. He recently partnered with Google Expeditions to create the first shark-tagging 360 VR classroom lesson plan and works closely with NOAA on the recovery plan for many threatened species.

Andy is the founding member of the Sea Legacy Collective and the first Senior Fellow for Only One. He is currently touring nationwide with National Geographic Live, presenting his work to sold-out theaters and continues to work with students and classrooms around the world to inspire the next generation of ocean ambassadors. Having worked on all 7 continents, Andy’s imagery is remarkably memorable, reminding us how the emotion of an image can touch our spirit.

Andy is also the co-founder and director at 3 Strings Productions, the commercial and documentary film studio in Boulder, CO and works with clients such as Apple, Red Bull, Toyota, The North Face, National Geographic and more.
