Former Professional Road Bicycle Racer; 2010 Winner of Tour de France

Luxembourg’s Andy Schleck, is a former professional cyclist and winner of the Tour de France in 2010. In 2010 he also won the Tour de France Young rider classification for the third time in a row. He cites his victory in the Galibier stage of the 2011 Tour de France as one of his most memorable achievements.

In addition to his Tour de France victory he has won, among others, the 2009 Liège-Bastogne-Liège cycle race and In 2011 by winning RaboRonde Heerlen as well as the mountains classification of the Tour de Suisse he proved himself to be a great champion and cyclist.

Schleck’s team, Trek Factory Racing, said Andy Schleck has made a “lasting impact on the sport”. They described him as good-natured with a strong character and good sense of sportsmanship. The team said the young rider “distinguished himself as a humble, hard-working and earnest competitor.”

In 2014 Andy Schleck retired from professional cycling due to a serious knee injury incurred from a crash during that year’s Tour de France. Aged just 30, he has left an impressive legacy for the sport and his achievements, experiences and awards continually bring inspiration and motivation to many. Schleck opened a bike shop and café in Itzig, Luxembourg in 2016, which also includes a small museum with souvenirs from Schleck's racing career.
