Angela Benton

Founder & Publisher of NewME, the First Accelerator for Minorities; Business & Technology Expert

Angela Benton is a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur. Producer-Author-Businesswoman-Cancer Survivor-Mother; throughout all her roles she embodies inspiration.

She’s a storyteller at heart having produced various forms of content over the past 10 years. She launched BlackWeb 2.0 in 2007, a multimedia platform which filled a much-needed void by becoming a vital nexus for African-Americans interested in technology. Through NewME, the first accelerator for minorities that she pioneered in 2011, she has produced various written and video content but her most important work there has been helping hundreds of entrepreneurs craft compelling stories for their startup businesses, helping them raise over $43MM from investors. She has been honored by Goldman Sachs’ 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs, in addition to Fast Company’s Most Influential Women In Technology, Business Insiders’ 25 Most Influential African-Americans in Technology, Marie Claire’s 50 Women Who Rule, and many more.

Her first book, a memoir, Revival: How I Rebuilt a Life for Longevity After Burnout, Cancer, and Heartbreak; chronicles her journey through cancer, entrepreneur burnout and loss. It lends lifelong insights and lessons learned on rebuilding a better, more sustainable life after setbacks instead of killing yourself chasing success.

As a business and technology expert, personality, and talent, Benton has been featured in numerous national and international media outlets including CNN’s award winning documentary series Black in America: The New Promised Land: Silicon Valley, Good Morning America, Queen Boss, MSNBC, Bloomberg, Inc, Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal, et al.

At the helm of her latest venture, Streamlytics, Angela continues to uncover untapped spaces in technology and innovation. Streamlytics uses data science to measure what content people are watching and listening to across popular streaming platforms.
