Angela Ruggiero is one of sport’s leading business executives, credited with producing the modern business model for the women’s sports industry. A decorated Olympic champion distinguished as one of the greatest hockey players of all time, Ruggiero has made a global impact in innovation and policy in sport through roles as a founder, investor, advisor, board member, and administrator for top organizations and governing bodies. She has been named to Sports Business Journal's 40 Under 40 List, Forbes’ Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Sport, and has been inducted into both the Hockey Hall of Fame and the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee Hall of Fame.

Ruggiero is CEO and co-founder of Sports Innovation Lab, a market research firm that advises the world’s most respected sports properties and global brands on how to create breakthrough fan experiences through technology. Sports Innovation Lab utilizes proprietary data, software, and analysts to identify and evaluate the trends, products and services driving the future of sport.

Ruggiero has served the Olympic Movement on the administrative and board levels for over a decade. She was a Member of the International Olympic Committee (2010-2018), on the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee, and was Chairperson for the IOC Athletes' Commission – the body representing all Olympians worldwide. She has also served on the Board of the United States Olympic Committee, was a Foundation Board Member of the World Anti-Doping Agency, and served as President and Board Member for the Women's Sports Foundation.

In prior professional roles, Ruggiero served as the Chief Strategy Officer for the successful Los Angeles 2028 Candidature Committee’s bid to host the 2028 Olympics, was a Senior Management Associate at Bridewater Associates, a New Business Consultant for NBC Sports, and Director of the New York Islanders.

Ruggiero’s athletic career was immortalized through her induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015, becoming just the fourth woman ever to be inducted. She played in 256 ice hockey games for Team USA - more than any other player, male or female - capturing four Olympic medals along the way (Gold in ‘98, Silver in ‘02 and ‘10, and Bronze in ‘06), twice being named Best Defenseman at the Games, while also winning four World Championships. A four-time All-American at Harvard, she was a member of the Crimson’s 1999 NCAA National Championship team. In 2004, she was honored with the Patty Kazmaier Award – presented by the USA Hockey Foundation to the best player in women’s college hockey – and named the best player in the world by The Hockey News.

She currently serves on the Boards of Enthusiast Gaming (NASDAQ: EGLX), Arctos Sports Partners, Harvard Varsity Club, TitletownTech, Boston Athletic Association, and Women’s Sports Network, and is a member of World Rugby’s Executive Board.

Ruggiero is a graduate of the Harvard Business School (M.B.A.), Harvard College (B.A.) cum laude, and the University of Minnesota (M.Ed.).
