Anita Perez Ferguson is a Visiting Scholar for the Woodrow Wilson Foundation in Princeton and the Chair of the InterAmerican Foundation in Washington, DC. She formerly served as the President of the National Women's Political Caucus and the White House Liaison to the U.S. Department of Transportation. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the YMCA.
Perez Ferguson has been active in politics for over fifteen years. She served as Director of Training for the Democratic National Committee. Perez Ferguson has provided leadership and political skills training to women in the United States, Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe. She was the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives from California in 1990 and 1992. Her other public service positions have included: Commissioner, Affirmative Action Commissioner and Chair of the Ethnic Advisory Board for Education in California.
A frequently quoted news source on subjects including women in politics, political strategy, election reform and minority/diversity issues, Perez Ferguson was named one of the "100 Most Influential Hispanics in the United States" by Hispanic Business. A frequent contributor to National Public Radio, Perez Ferguson has been certified by Toastmasters International, and is a graduate of the Gallup Leadership Institute for CEO's. Perez Ferguson has been a featured speaker/participant for organizations including the National Association of Community Action Agencies, Lucent Technologies Global Diversity Management Conference, National Hispana Leadership Institute, the American Political Science Association, the American Enterprise Institute and the International Women's Leadership Conference at the JFK School of Government, Harvard University.
Perez Ferguson has a B.A. in Communications from Westmont College, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Santa Clara and an M.A. in Management from the University of Redlands.
