Ann Kim is the chef of Young Joni, and in 2019 she received the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Midwest. Young Joni is a restaurant in Minneapolis, Minnesota that serves wood-fired pizza, cocktails, and Korean-inspired dishes. The restaurant opened in 2016. Previously, Kim started Pizzeria Lola in 2010, and the restaurant received local and national acclaim. She went on to open a second restaurant called Hello Pizza. Kim is a Korean immigrant and graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in English.
