Actress & Screenwriter Known For Emmy Nominated "PEN15"

Anna Konkle is an actress and screenwriter. She is known for starring alongside Maya Erskine in Hulu's original TV comedy series "PEN15," a comedy series that premiered in 2019 that depicted middle school as it really happened. The duo, who co-created and co-executive produced the series, played fictional versions of their 13-year-old selves during the year 2000. The series was nominated for an Emmy in 2021 for Best Comedy Series.

Konkle first made her film debut in 2012 in the short film Last Call. The next year she appeared in the TV miniseries "Project Reality" (SyFy 2013) and as Enid in two episodes of the series "Betas" (Amazon 2013-14). In 2014, Konkle made appearances on the Ben Stiller-produced web series "Next Time on Lonny" (2014), and the sitcom "New Girl" (Fox 2011). 2015 brought significant visibility for Konkle, on television and the web. She appeared in the comedy series "Man Seeking Woman" (FXX 2015), the mockumentary series "Big Time in Hollywood, FL" (Comedy Central 2015) and Marc Maron's comedy series "Maron" (IFC 2013). In 2015 it was announced that Konkle would star opposite Morris Chestnut in the procedural comedy-drama "Rosewood" (FOX 2015).

She attended New York University, where she met fellow-student Maya Erskine while they were both studying abroad at a theater program in Amsterdam.

Some people labor under the misconception that a soulmate is synonymous with the love of your life, relegated exclusively to romantic relationships, fodder only for those seeking their ain true love. The Hulu comedy PEN15 was created by Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle about their adventures in junior high school. Apparently, they couldn't find anyone else to capture their particular combination of geekery and awkwardness, so they decided to play themselves — and it turns out full-grown adults fit into seventh grade more easily than you might think.
