Anne Whitaker is president of North America pharmaceuticals for Sanofi, a position she has held since 2011. She oversees all operations within the region including the diabetes, oncology, cardiovascular, biosurgery and renal units. Whitaker began her pharmaceutical career at the Upjohn Company in 1991 as a metabolic disease specialist. She joined GlaxoSmithKline in 1992 as a sales representative. In 2007, she became vice president of critical and supportive care before being appointed senior vice president of leadership and organization development from 2008 to 2009. In 2009, Whitaker became senior vice president of cardiovascular, metabolic and urology (CVMU) at GlaxoSmithKline. She is a member of the National Pharmaceutical Council Board of Directors and a trustee of the Healthcare Institute of New Jersey. Whitaker holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry with a minor in business administration from the University of North Alabama.
