Ansel Elgort is an actor known for starring as Caleb Prior in the Divergent films, as well as playing Augustus Waters in The Fault in Our Stars, the 2014 film adaptation of a John Green book by the same name. Elgort also starred as Miles "Baby" in Baby Driver.

Elgort was born and raised in New York City and grew up in a household that embraced the arts. His dad is a fashion photographer and his mother is an opera director. Elgort began taking acting classes at the age of 12.

Before focusing on acting full-time Elgort was often featured in Vogue photoshoots with his father as the photographer.

When he was nine, his mother took him to try out for the School of American Ballet. He went on to study there for five years, but, ultimately, he wanted to be on Broadway. He made his first Broadway appearance in 2012 on "Regrets" alongside stars such as Alexis Bledel and Curt Bouril.

He starred in his high school production of “Guys and Dolls” and the musical version of “Hairspray,” in which he played Link Larkin. He graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Performing Arts in 2012.

It didn't take Elgort long to hit the big-time. His first film role was in 2013's Carrie remake. He followed it up with a role in Divergent, where he met Shailene Woodley who would become his leading lady in the highly anticipated film adaptation of the popular young adult book "The Fault in Our Stars."

In 2017, Elgort played the title role in the action film Baby Driver, directed by Edgar Wright, and also starring Lily James and Kevin Spacey. Elgort's audition in 2014 required him to lip-sync and dance to the song of his choosing. The film received positive reviews and performed well at the box office. He received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.

Elgort played the lead role in the 2019 release The Goldfinch, an adaptation of Donna Tartt's bestselling novel.

Elgort also remixes music and is an EDM artist in his own right. He has played at the Electric Zoo Festival and the Ultra Music Festival, and has opened for the Chainsmokers, Nervo, Nicky Romero, and Martin Garrix. In 2015, he signed a record deal with Island/Universal Records and released his first single titled "Home Alone" in July 2016.

On February 3, 2017, he released a single called "Thief" under the name Ansel Elgort. He was featured on rapper Logic's third studio album, Everybody, released on May 5, 2017, on a song titled "Killing Spree." On January 11, 2018, he released a single called "Supernova."
