Anthony Davis, often referred to by his initials AD, is a professional basketball player currently with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a nine-time NBA All-Star and has earned distinctions in four All-NBA First Teams and five NBA All-Defensive Teams. In his first season with the Lakers, he won an NBA championship in 2020. He further showcased his skills by leading the Lakers to victory in the NBA Cup in 2023. In recognition of his professional achievements, he was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team as one of the most consequential players in the history of the league.

Davis played college basketball for the University of Kentucky, where he received various accolades, such as first-team All-American and the Consensus National Player of the Year. His excellent defensive skills earned him the USBWA National Freshman of the Year, NABC Defensive Player of the Year, and the Pete Newell Big Man Award.
