Leading Energy Analyst, Author & Investigative Journalist Specializing In Oil

Antonia Juhasz is a leading energy analyst, author, and investigative journalist specializing in oil and its relations to war, conflict, and the environment.

An award-winning writer, her bylines include Newsweek, Rolling Stone, Harper's Magazine, The Atlantic, CNN, The Nation, Ms., The Advocate, New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Petroleum Review Magazine, The Daily Mirror Zimbabwe, and The Star Johannesburg.

She is the author of several books, including 2011's "Black Tide: the Devastating Impact of the Gulf Oil Spill," 2008's "The Tyranny of Oil," and 2006's "The Bush Agenda." She has also been a contributing author to additional books.

Her investigations have taken her a mile below the ocean surface in the Alvin sub in the Gulf of Mexico to the rainforests of the Ecuadoran Amazon, from to the deserts of Afghanistan to the fracking fields of North Dakota, from the Alaskan Arctic to the oiled beaches of Santa Barbara, and many more places in between.

She is a 2019-2020 Scripps Fellow at the Center for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado. Juhasz is a 2017 Yale University Poynter Fellow in Journalism and a 2012-2013 Investigative Journalism Fellow of the Investigative Reporting Program UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.

Her Harper's Magazine article, "30 Million Gallons Under the Sea," appeared in The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2016 Anthology. Her Advocate Magazine cover article, "What's Wrong with Exxon?" was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award, Outstanding Magazine Article 2013.

She is a frequent media commentator appearing on TV & radio, including ABC, NBC, CBS, BBC, NPR, Democracy Now!, & Alec Baldwin's WNYC "Here's the Thing." She is a frequent public speaker at large and small fora, including the NY Museum of Modern Art.

A former legislative assistant to two U.S. members of Congress, she holds Masters and Bachelors Degrees in Public Policy from Georgetown and Brown, respectively.
