Antonio Ballatore

Host of HGTV's "The Antonio Treatment"

Antonio Ballatore was destined to be recognized for his unique taste in design. The son of two artists, Antonio failed art class as a child for coloring outside the lines. Even so, his parents always encouraged him to think outside the box, and this philosophy has stuck with him since.

Raised in New York, Antonio began doing ground-up construction at the age of 16. By 20, he owned his own construction company and at 23 he began to narrow his focus to restaurant, night club and commercial construction. He then began managing a local bar and combined his love of the arts and his ability to bring people together to develop what became a music hot spot. The Z-bar turned into the place where all bands wanted to play on their way through New York.

Antonio also played the bass guitar which eventually led him to pack up his things and tour full time with New York hardcore bands.

At the age of 28 Antonio began working construction once again, and was introduced to set design by photographer David LaChappel. As he gained experience, he started working with other world famous photographers like Annie Leibovitz and Mark Seliger. He was soon designing sets for shoots running in GQ, Vanity Fair, and Rolling Stone, as well as for ads for many top companies like Walmart, Proctor and Gamble, Visa, Converse, Jose Cuervo and Nieman Marcus. Antonio also began designing event sets at popular clubs and bars and fashion show sets for designers like Betsey Johnson.

Antonio made his television debut on Season 4 of HGTVs hit show "Design Star." After winning the season title he began hosting his current design show, "The Antonio Treatment," which is now in its second season.

He continues to work out of his own design studio in Los Angeles, Studio 413, where he focuses on commercial and event design. Antonio also recently teamed up with a group of industry professionals to form a full service hospitality and lifestyle agency called The Ingredient Group.

From sweeping up shop in his dads visual design studio, to inspiring thousands of people to think beyond the norm, Antonio has stayed true to himself and his fearless intuition.
