Apoorva Mehta is the founder and CEO of Instacart. Launched in 2012, Instacart has fundamentally changed the grocery industry by connecting customers with shoppers who hand-pick and deliver fresh groceries to their doorsteps in as little as one hour. Today, Instacart operates in 210 markets across North America, and works with hundreds of national and local retailers like Albertsons, Kroger, Loblaws, and Publix to offer customers access to hundreds of thousands of items from their favorite stores. Additionally, through innovative partnerships, Instacart is leading the evolution of digital advertising and marketing solutions for CPG brands.

An engineering graduate of the University of Waterloo, Mehta worked as a design engineer at BlackBerry and Qualcomm, and as a supply chain engineer at Amazon before launching Instacart at Y Combinator. Mehta has been named to Fortune’s 40 Under 40 and Inc.’s 35 Under 35. In 2016, Instacart was recognized by CNBC as one of the 50 Most Disruptive Companies in the U.S., and in 2015 the company was named America’s Most Promising Company by Forbes.
