April Holmes  

Paralympic Gold Medalist, Best-Selling Author

Raised with a hard work ethic, April Holmes has redefined what it means to be disabled. Holmes was involved in a train accident in 2001 that resulted in the loss of her left leg below the knee.

Since her career in Paralympic track & field began in 2002, Holmes has continued to succeed, improving each and every step of the way. She has been at every major championship on the U.S.A. team between 2002-2016. She has put together several undefeated seasons, broken IPC World Records 14 times and American Records 18 times, won 3 Paralympic medals and 5 World Championship medals.

Off the track, Holmes runs the April Holmes Foundation, Inc. a non-profit organization assisting people with physical and learning disabilities with scholarships and medical equipment.

Holmes recently co-authored her first book entitled, “The Winning Way” with Brian Tracy.

Additionally, Holmes recently started a podcast entitled “Run Your Life with April Holmes,” where she delivers motivational messages to subscribers of iTunes promoting personal development, accountability, and empowerment.
