Emmy Award-Winning Actress & Philanthropist Known for "The Good Wife"

Archie Panjabi is an actress celebrated for her compelling portrayal of Kalinda Sharma on CBS’s hit show "The Good Wife," a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award in 2010. She has left a lasting impression on audiences and critics alike, which was underlined in 2011 when The New York Times Magazine included her in their list of Eight Master Performers Who Turn Television into Art. In 2013, her work was further recognized with a Golden Globe nomination. Panjabi's film career took off with her debut as Meenah Khan in the critically acclaimed film "East is East," which received a standing ovation at Cannes and won a BAFTA for Best Film in 2000.

Panjabi continued to carve out her place in the industry, starring in internationally acclaimed films such as "Bend It Like Beckham" and "The Constant Gardener," the latter working alongside Ralph Fiennes. Her performance in "Yasmin," written by Simon Beaufoy, was internationally praised, and she received numerous Best Actress Awards, including one from the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival. Adding to her filmography, she also appeared in "A Mighty Heart" alongside Angelina Jolie, a role which earned her The Chopard Trophy at The Cannes Film Festival in 2007. Her other notable roles include Maya Roy in "Life on Mars," Nas Kamal in "Blindspot," and Kendra Malley in "Departure." Aside from her work on the big screen, Panjabi has also proven her versatility on television, appearing in series such as "The Fall" and most recently lending her voice to the animated series "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" in 2021.

Off-screen, Panjabi is actively involved in philanthropic work. She has collaborated with organizations like Rotary International, UNICEF, and The Gates Foundation in the international campaign "We Are This Close” to eradicate polio. She also spearheads Amnesty International's campaign to Stop Violence Against Women. She was the first ambassador for Pratham USA, a non-profit focused on child literacy in India, exemplifying her commitment to social causes.

Archie Panjabi graduated from Brunel University in England with a degree in Management Studies and was honored with an Honorary Doctorate of Letters. Her academic merits include participating in the prestigious Artist in Residence Programme at Harvard University. Born in London and having spent part of her childhood in Mumbai, she now resides in New York with her husband, Rajesh Nihalani, a bespoke tailor.
