When Arun Saigal and WeiHua Li decided to spin-out MIT’s App Inventor tool, the drag-and-drop service for building your own app had already reached 4.3 million registered users who made more than 13 million apps. Thunkable, which ultimately grew out of MIT in December 2015, hopes to reach the same success as the original tool did and democratize app creation by making it easy for people around the globe to build both Android and iOS apps, regardless of programming experience.
