Asheem Chandna

Partner, Greylock Partners

Asheem Chandna jumped up the Midas List thanks his late stage bet on Arista Networks (IPO 2014), a higher valuation at AppDynamics and the continued success of Palo Alto Networks (IPO 2012). Born in India, Asheem Chandna joined Greylock in 2003 after serving as vice president of business development and product management at Check Point Software. At the Tel Aviv IT security firm, he met Israeli engineer Nir Zuk who would later go on to found Palo Alto Networks. Chandna advised Zuk all the way through. He is now Greylock's specialist in enterprise infrastructure, cloud computing and security. Other notable recent exits include Xsigo Systems (acquired by Oracle in 2012) and Zenprise (acquired by Citrix for $355 million in late 2012). A big innovation and investment opportunity right now, he told Forbes, is in "cloud-ready infrastructure." Chandna supports underprivileged children in Bangalore through an organization called Parikma. When not at work he can be spotted jogging around Stanford University's campus.
