Barry Tamarkin caught the magic bug at age 9 when he got his first magic set as a gift from his parents. After practicing for months his folks took him to a restaurant where a magician was doing strolling magic. The magician performed at Tamarkin’s table and he was hooked! Tamarkin knew magic was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He took private magic lessons from that same magician every week for the next three years.

Tamarkin practiced daily until his “sleights” were perfect. After years of practice, he was ready to perform for the public. Tamarkin performed at private parties, special events, and restaurants all through high school. After graduating college with a marketing degree from Indiana University, Tamarkin worked in marketing for a national retail chain and performed magic on the side. It took Tamarkin only a few years in the real world to decide he wanted to live his dream and pursue magic full-time.

So he packed his bags and moved to Atlanta to start his magic career. Tamarkin knew doing birthday parties was not his calling. Instead, he combined his marketing degree with his sleight-of-hand magic skills. He began performing at Atlanta area restaurants and clubs. Tamarkin then started networking and marketing to the corporate world finding a nice “niche” doing corporate magic for local Atlanta companies. His reputation spread rapidly and soon Fortune 500 companies were calling for his corporate magic services worldwide!

Tamarkin has since been performing worldwide for the past 25+ years for major corporations at tradeshows, meetings, award dinners, conferences, conventions, hospitality suites, and other high-end corporate events.
