Bayside is an American punk rock band from Queens which formed in the winter of 2000. Bayside consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Anthony Raneri, lead guitarist Jack O'Shea, bassist Nick Ghanbarian and drummer Chris Guglielmo.
Bayside self released a five song demo and signed to Dying Wish Records to issue its first release, “Long Stories Short” EP in 2001. In 2003 the band released a split EP with Name Taken entitled simply “Bayside/Name Taken” with the same label.
Later in 2003, Bayside signed to Victory Records, where the band would reside for the next six years. “Sirens and Condolences,” Bayside's debut full length album, was released in January 2004, through Victory Records. The album featured the song “Masterpiece.”
The band followed its debut album up with the self-titled album “Bayside” which was released in September 2005 by Victory Records. Shortly after its release, the band was involved in a serious vehicle accident when their van hit a patch of ice and flipped in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Drummer John “Beatz” Holohan was killed and bassist Nick Ghanbarian was seriously injured when he was ejected through one of the van's windows. Bayside issued the appropriately titled “Acoustic” in 2005, which featured a tribute to Holohan and acoustic renditions Bayside songs. The song “Winter” was dedicated to Holohan.
Chris Guglielmo became the band's new drummer and they originally released “The Walking Wounded” in February 2007. It was re-released as “The Walking Wounded: Gold Edition” in July 2007, with the newer edition containing bonus live acoustic tracks as well as a bonus DVD. The album's first single, “Duality,” was remixed and featured in “Resident Evil: Extinction” under the title “Duality (Project Alice String Remix).”
In September 2008 the band released its fourth full length album, “Shudder” and a live album, “Live at the Bayside Social Club.” With the release of “Shudder,” the band fulfilled their contract with Victory Records. They later signed with Wind Up Records who issued their album, “Killing Time” in 2011.
