In 2009 Chris Mintz-Plasse and Adam Aseraf started jamming songs in Chris's backyard. Adam on guitar/vocals and Chris on bass. The duo quickly realized that their tunes demanded more musicians to truly bring them to life. That’s when Patrick Allan Davis, Nick Chamian, Ben Bayouth and Morgan Demeter were brought onboard. Chris and Adam called their newly formed sextet Bear On Fire.

The music that these six best friends generated was and is clearly a projection of the musical genres all six of them listen to and admire: Southern Blues, Alt Rock, Progressive Rock and Mid Tempo Soul-Funk. With all the right pieces in play, the band recorded their debut album, "Velicata Back." And in true serendipitous fashion, it all happened in the same place Adam and Chris started the musical endeavor: Chris's backyard.
