Haitian-American Actor, Best Known for "Diarra from Detroit"

Béchir Sylvain is a versatile Haitian American actor known for his dynamic performances in film, television, and theater. Captivating audiences as Glock on Starz's "BMF" and Roman in BET+'s hit comedy mystery series "Diarra From Detroit," he has been cast in the yet-to-be-titled "Jurassic World 4" film, which will be headlined by Scarlett Johansson.

A lifetime member of The Actors Studio, Sylvain honed his craft at Southern Methodist University and is the creator of the award-winning web series "Make It Happen." He previously starred as AJ on TBS’ "Claws."

Sylvain was the inaugural grand prize winner of the digital talent competition ABC Discovers showcase, selected from more than 1,400 entries. A rising star in the industry, his film roles include supporting parts in "The Ultimate Life" and "Holiday Hideaway." Television credits include guest appearances on "Blindspotting," "Black Summer," "Better Call Saul" and "This Is Us."

Sylvain has an extensive theater background, performing with renowned companies such as Arizona Theatre Company, GableStage, and Theater 68, where he earned an NAACP Theatre Award for Best Ensemble in "The Meeting." He also received an Obie Award for his role as Jay “The Sport” Jackson in "The Royale." His professional stage work includes roles in "The Pillowman," "King Hedley II," "Topdog/Underdog" and "Six Degrees of Separation."

Sylvain is a co-founder of Miami's Ground Up & Rising theater company, where he remains committed to fostering new talent and bringing innovative productions to life.

He is also a passionate advocate for colon cancer prevention, dedicating his efforts to supporting Brown Sugar Rehab, a non-profit founded by his late wife, Shannon Sylvain, who passed away from colon cancer. The organization focuses on education, preventive health strategies, and providing resources for colon cancer screenings, with a mission to raise awareness and promote early detection.
