Chief Meteorologist at Kare

Belinda Jensen is Chief Meteorologist and a KARE-11 News Saturday Anchor. Jensen joined KARE 11 in September of 1993 and was promoted to Chief Meteorologist in December of 2005. She is also co-host of “KARE 11 News Saturday,” co-host of “Grow with KARE” and the feature reporter for “Minnesota Bound.”

Before coming to KARE, Jensen worked at the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also worked as a weather producer and co-anchored a sunrise show for three years at the ABC affiliate in Salt Lake City. Belinda has received the AMS Seal of Approval for broadcast meteorology.

She serves her community through involvement in the schools, trying to involve students, particularly girls, in science. Jensen authors the children's book series the Bel the Weathergirl.

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. She has also done graduate work in secondary education through the University of Utah.
