As COO, she was on the front lines of the travel startup's legal fights, including the choice to sue cities like San Francisco and New York. She joined Airbnb in 2011 as its first executive hire and general counsel and was promoted to COO in 2018.

Before Airbnb, she was general counsel at Mark Cuban's startup Broadcast.com, which was sold to Yahoo! in 1998. After Broadcast.com was bought by Yahoo, she stayed for 12 years and eventually became its deputy counsel.
