Tony Award-Winning Actor; Best Known for "Pitch Perfect" & Broadway Musicals "Dear Evan Hansen" & "The Book of Mormon"

At 9 years old, Platt played Winthrop Paroo in The Music Man at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Kristin Chenoweth. At 11, he appeared in a brief national tour with Caroline, or Change, originally by Jeanine Tesori and Tony Kushner. At 17, he played Jean Valjean in a youth theatre production of Les Misérables.

Platt played a supporting role in the film Pitch Perfect as magic-obsessed Benji Applebaum. He was subsequently nominated at a Teen Choice Awards in the category "Choice Movie: Male Scene Stealer," for his work.

He has also collaborated on a workshop of Alice by Heart, by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater as a new take on Alice in Wonderland. Other roles include the role of Claude Bukowski in Columbia's musical theatre production of Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical.

Platt played Elder Cunningham in the Chicago production of "The Book of Mormon," the nine-time Tony Award-winning musical. He later reprised his role on Broadway.

Platt originated the role of Evan Hansen in the Tony Award-winning musical "Dear Evan Hansen." He won the Tony Award for "Best Actor in a Musical for his role in 2017.

In 2019 he released his first album, "Sing to Me Instead," and then embarked on his first North American tour.

Platt currently starred as Payton Hobart on the Netflix comedy-drama series The Politician.
