Benjamin Bratt

Actor & Producer; Best known for "Law & Order," "Miss Congeniality," and "Coco"

Benjamin Bratt is a seasoned actor and producer whose work has spanned across both the film and television industry.

Bratt's distinguished film career includes the critically acclaimed films Piero, for which he was lauded for a striking, haunting, and "career-defining" performance of the poet-playwright-actor Miguel Piero; Steven Soderbergh's Traffic, which received five Academy Award nominations and a Screen Actor's Guild Award for Ensemble Cast; and The Woodsman, a festival and critical favorite starring Kevin Bacon.

Bratt can also be recognized as "Eric Matthews" in the beloved comedy Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock, for which he won a Blockbuster Entertainment Award.

Television audiences perhaps best recognize Bratt from his award-winning role of "Detective Rey Curtis" on NBC's long-running drama Law & Order. Throughout his tenure on the show, he and the cast won an Emmy for Best Drama Series, while he garnered an Emmy Award nomination for best supporting actor, won two ALMA Awards, a SAG Award nomination with his cast for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and an NCLR Bravo Award nomination.

Bratt played the lead role of "Dr. Jeremy Stone" in the hit A&E miniseries The Andromeda Strain, from Ridley and Tony Scott, based on the novel by Michael Crichton, which was the number one original movie or miniseries of 2008 and garnered seven Emmy nominations. Bratt has also stared in the A&E drama series "The Cleaner" (2008-2009), for which he also served as Producer, and the 10-episode revival of 24, 24: Live Another Day (2014). In addition to these, Bratt has played recurring roles on the hit television shows Private Practice (2011-2013), Modern Family (2010-2017), and Star (2016-2018).

In 2009 Bratt partnered with his brother, writer/director/producer Peter Bratt, to create and star in La Mission, a story which recalls the culture, people, and beliefs of their childhood in the Mission district of San Francisco.

In addition to his on-screen appearances, Bratt has also lent his voice to several major motion pictures over the years including Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Despicable Me 2. In 2017 Benjamin voiced the fraudulent singer, "Ernesto de la Cruz," in the box office hit Coco.

Bratt is married to actress Talisa Soto Bratt. They reside in Los Angeles with their two children.
