Vice President, Green is Universal NBC Universal, Inc.

NEW YORK – October 13, 2011 – Beth Colleton has been promoted to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility for NBCUniversal. She reports to Adam Miller, NBCUniversal’s Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs.

Colleton will be responsible for developing and implementing NBCUniversal’s comprehensive, companywide corporate social responsibility strategy, including business goals, operational policies, and internal and external programs. Areas of focus include environmental sustainability, diversity, philanthropy, and pro-social initiatives. Colleton will also be responsible for engaging and reporting to a diverse set of stakeholders on the company’s CSR efforts.

Miller said: “I am pleased Beth has agreed to take on this new position in an area of increasing importance. With her wide experience and expertise in this field, Beth is the ideal executive to make sure that we fully live up to our societal obligations to all our constituents.”

Colleton had served since 2008 as Vice President of Green Is Universal/Sustainability for NBC Universal. She was responsible for leading the day-to-day business of Green is Universal, which focuses on the strategic incorporation of sustainability across NBC Universal’s entire organization. In her new expanded role, Colleton will continue to supervise these activities.

Colleton has nearly two decades of experience in both the business and nonprofit sector and has been a leader in corporate responsibility, sustainability, pro-social investment, and public-private partnerships. Before joining NBCUniversal, she served as the head of community ventures and growth markets for the NFL for more than a decade. She was responsible for building the league’s cause platform into one of the most comprehensive philanthropic agendas in the industry. Her responsibilities included overseeing the league’s foundations, which awarded more than $30 million annually, community and public affairs, cause marketing, and pro-social program development. She also served as a senior advisor to the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, targeting U.S. financial and policy reform, and educating and engaging Americans around fiscal responsibility and solutions.

Colleton graduated from the University of Notre Dame with degrees in American Studies and Spanish.
