Beth Kowitt is a senior editor at Fortune, where she writes features on topics including the business of food, consumer behavior, sustainability, management issues, and women in business. Kpwitt has written about everything from Silicon Valley’s quest for meatless meat to the civil war inside Google to sexual harassment in the media industry.

Kowitt writes longform pieces for the magazine as well as cover industry news and analysis for Fortune.com. Her work has been honored by the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing (SABEW), the Newswomen's Club of New York, the New York Press Club, the New York Society of CPAs, and Longform.org.

Kowitt also co-edits Fortune's Most Powerful Women in Business list, and co-chairs Fortune's Most Powerful Women and MPW Next Gen summit. She's also a co-chair of the Fortune-U.S. State Department Global Women Leaders Mentoring Partnership and the Fortune Global Sustainability Summit.

Kowitt is a graduate of Bowdoin College and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She joined Fortune in 2008 and is based in New York.
