Republican Strategist; Attorney; Co-Founder, Shawmut Group; Former Senior Adviser to US Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney

A political consultant and campaign advisor with over three decades’ experience in American politics, Beth Myers is one of the Republican Party’s leading strategists and most trusted authorities on the political dynamics on Capitol Hill and in the state capitals.

Myers has been a highly influential figure in Mitt Romney’s political career. As his closest political advisor, she served as Romney’s Chief of Staff during his governorship in Massachusetts, his Campaign Manager during his bid for the Republican nomination for the 2008 Presidential race, and Senior Campaign Advisor for the Romney/Ryan 2012 campaign, tasked with leading the VP selection and preparing Governor Romney for his debates with President Obama.

She is co-founder of Shawmut Group, a strategy consulting firm. The group has represented Republican Rick Lazio and Mitt Romney's Free and Strong America PAC, among others.

She serves on the Board of Advisors for the University of Chicago Institute of Politics, as Co-chair of the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Working Group on Presidential General Election Debates. She recently completed a term as a Fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, and was Visiting Fellow at the University of Chicagon IOP in 2014.

Myers began her political career working on Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential campaign, where she oversaw voter identification programs in rural counties throughout Texas. She graduated from Tufts University with a degree in English in 1979. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1991.
