Big & Rich is an American country music duo composed of Big Kenny and John Rich. The duo, both songwriters, vocalists, and guitarists, started their major-label career in 2004 with the release of their debut studio album, "Horse of a Different Color." Their knack for creating chart-topping music was evident early on as their second single, "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)," peaked at number 11 on country singles charts. Their third single, "Holy Water," also made an impact, reaching number 15 on the country singles charts. In total, the duo has charted 19 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Song Chart. Big & Rich's ability to craft hits is not limited to their own performances; they have written songs for other artists, such as Jason Aldean and Martina McBride.
Big & Rich's commitment to their craft was undeterred even during their hiatus, with both members releasing solo albums. They reunited in 2011 to release the song "Fake ID" for the film Footloose and have since continued to produce hits, including the Top 20 hit "That's Why I Pray" from their fourth album, "Hillbilly Jedi." Together, the duo has released six studio albums. Their songwriting prowess has been recognized in the music industry, with their song catalogs being acquired by Reservoir Media Management in 2007. Their skill has also earned them nominations for Vocal Duo of the Year (6x) at the CMA Awards and Top Vocal Duo (8x) at the ACM Awards.
The duo has been heavily involved in collaborations, working with artists such as Martina McBride, John Legend, Wyclef Jean, Lil Jon, and Bon Jovi. They have also made significant contributions outside of music production. Their song "Comin' to Your City" has been used as the opening theme to ESPN's College GameDay from 2005 to 2019. Furthermore, Big & Rich's value as entertainers and public figures extends beyond their music. They have appeared in TV shows, documentaries, video games, and films, including an episode of "The Bachelor."
