Bilal Baig is the co-creator, co-writer and star of "Sort Of," a CBC TV comedy that tells the story of gender-fluid character Sabi Mehboob. Baig is the first queer, South Asian, Muslim actor to lead a Canadian primetime TV series. "Sort Of" has won various awards, including seven Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Performer for Baig; the Bell Media Award for Best Comedy Program; and a Peabody Award.

Baig is also a playwright whose first play, "Acha Bacha," premiered in 2018. They also develop workshops at Story Planet, a non-profit that empowers young people in under-resourced neighborhoods to express themselves through writing, visual arts and media.

Baig is one of the founding members of acolourdeep.ca, an online platform for queer and trans South Asians to connect virtually or in person.
