Bill Anderson, a scientist at heart, a chemical engineer by training, and a lifelong student of biotechnology, is the CEO of Bayer AG.

For over 30 years, he has served in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to Bayer, he held leadership roles at Genentech, Roche and Biogen. Throughout his career, he has worked in several disciplines, including Process and Product Development, Finance, Sales and Marketing, and General Management. He is driven by two things: accelerating innovation that improves life, and empowering teams to make a lasting, positive impact with their work.

Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas and a Master of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), both in Chemical Engineering. He also earned a Master of Science in Management from MIT’s Sloan School.
