Bill Jamieson    

Founder & Editor of Scot-Buzz; Former Executive Editor of The Scotsman

Bill Jamieson was the Executive Editor of The Scotsman for 11 years where he wrote regularly on finance and economics as well as politics and current affairs. He has also been a regular contributor to Scotland on Sunday, Spectator Business and to BBC Scotland, both radio and television.

Since stepping down from The Scotsman, which he continues to write for, he has established Scott-Buzz, the one-stop business news website aiming to help business enterprise and the SME sector.

In 2009 Jamieson won Business Journalist of the Year and overall Journalist of the Year in the Scottish Press Awards. He also collected Campaign of the Year Award for The Scotsman for its series of articles on the Lloyds-HBOS merger. In 2012, Jamieson launched Scot-Buzz, Scotland’s fast-growing business news and current affairs website. The purpose of the site is to encourage and promote enterprise and endeavour across business and all fields of Scottish life.

Prior to joining The Scotsman in 2000, Jamieson was for seven years Economics Editor of The Sunday Telegraph. In addition to speaking and journalism, Jamieson has written business books including Goldstrike!, the inside story of the take over battle for Consolidated Goldfields. Jamieson is also the author of a number of books on economics and politics including An Illustrated Guide to the British Economy and Scotland’s Ten Tomorrows.

Jamieson is an accomplished performer on business and investment platforms and speaks with passion and humour on the major business and political issues of the day.
