Bill Lutz
Consultant, Former Restaurateur, "Real Food for Real People: Restaurant Methods & Quality Service in Residential Healthcare"
William R. Lutz is Vice President of Optimum Solutions & Strategies, Inc. that was founded in 1997. Bill and the organization are dedicated solely to improving the quality of life in residential healthcare facilities by both speaking in various venues with regard to the need for practical improvement in dietary services, and enhancing foodservice through restaurant-style service, methodology and execution.
Until 1997, Bill had been a successful owner/operator and pioneer of several fine-dining establishments in the Columbus, Ohio area. Most recently, Grand Vu Visionary Cuisine in Grandview Heights was culinarilly and critically acclaimed, consistently being named "Top Ten" and "Four Star" status with the local media. He has been involved in the restaurant industry since 1979.
Over the past several years Mr. Lutz has been the presenter of several different seminars and workshops regarding restaurant style dining in residential healthcare. "Real Food for Real People", "Real Food for Real People Workshop", "Help Nurse! I Need a Waitress!", and "Compliance vs. P.P.D.-Without the Aspirin" have been presented numerous times to State affiliates of the American Health Care Association, The National Center for Assisted Living and the Pioneer Network. All venues have been CEU accredited. Mr. Lutz is also an ongoing lecturer every quarter for the Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business Core of Knowledge Administrator Training Program. Additionally, Mr. Lutz has been published and quoted extensively in Assisted Living Success, Provider and Contemporary Long Term Care.
Bill is also the key part of a team that successfully consults and installs a compliant foodservice system of revised methodology both in the front and back of house operations. The result provides vastly improved food preparation, tableside menu choices as well as focused and coursed plate presentation for the resident.
