William Ready is the CEO of Pinterest, having taken the helm in June 2022. Before joining Pinterest, Ready had an illustrious career in the tech and finance sectors, notably serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at PayPal. His strategic vision and operational acumen were instrumental in driving PayPal’s growth and innovation. Ready's expertise in digital payments and e-commerce played a significant role in shaping the company's global strategy, leading to increased user engagement and market expansion.

Under Ready’s leadership, Pinterest has been focusing on enhancing user experience, expanding its e-commerce capabilities, and driving revenue growth. His vision is to transform Pinterest from a social media platform to a robust e-commerce hub where users can not only find inspiration but also purchase products directly. This strategic pivot aims to leverage Pinterest's unique position in the market, blending social discovery with seamless shopping experiences.

Ready joined Pinterest from Google, where he held the role of President of Commerce, Payments & Next Billion Users, working on advancing the company's commerce strategy. Prior to that, he came to his role at Paypal after it acquired Braintree, a leading mobile and web payment systems provider, of which he was CEO. His leadership at Braintree saw the company grow exponentially, becoming a critical component of the payment processing infrastructure for major tech firms like Uber, Airbnb, and Yelp.

Earlier in his career, Ready was Executive in Residence at Accel Partners, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital and growth equity firm and also served as President of iPay Technologies. He also worked as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company, where he advised leading financial technology companies.

Ready is a senior advisor and limited partner of Silversmith Capital Partners, and a director of Williams-Sonoma and ADP. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Finance from the University of Louisville.
