As vice president radio access and virtualization technology planning, Bill Stone reports to Ed Chan. Bill and his team are responsible for the strategy and planning for the Verizon Wireless radio access network and the virtualization of the wireless EPC and IMS networks. Bill’s team also coordinates Verizon’s participation in industry bodies such as 3GPP and CTIA, drives the deployment of new technologies such as LTE Advanced features, 5G, and the Verizon Cloud Platform. His team also manages Verizon’s spectrum strategy.

Bill has held a number of other positions at Verizon including executive director network planning, executive director of network Northern New Jersey region, executive director of CDMA deployment, manager of radio planning for Philadelphia region and various other management positions since beginning his career with Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems in 1992.
