Billy Crystal is a comedian, writer, actor and producer. He is a multi-talented figure in the entertainment industry, has been notable for both his on-screen and behind-the-scenes contributions.

Crystal first garnered national attention the ABC sitcom "Soap" from 1977 to 1981, and as a cast member and host of "Saturday Night Live" from 1984 to 1985. His film career includes roles in "When Harry Met Sally..." (1989), "City Slickers" (1991), and providing the voice of Mike Wazowski in the Pixar animated "Monsters, Inc." franchise.

Crystal has appeared on Broadway, winning a Tony Award for his one-man show "700 Sundays" in 2004, and earning Tony nominations for his work in "Mr. Saturday Night" in 2022.

Crystal's talents extend to writing, directing, and producing. His Broadway debut, "700 Sundays," was filmed by HBO and received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Variety Special. He also directed the television movie "61*", earning him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie, or a Special. Crystal's writing prowess is not limited to the stage and screen; he has penned five books, including his memoir "Still Foolin' Em" (2013). He also created and produced the HBO comedy miniseries "Sessions" in 1991.

Crystal's contributions to the industry have been recognized with numerous accolades. These include six Primetime Emmy Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1991, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2007, and the Critics' Choice Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. His unique ability to captivate audiences has led him to host the Academy Awards nine times, most recently in 2012. In 2023, Crystal was honored with the Kennedy Center Honors, cementing his place in the pantheon of influential figures in American entertainment.
