Billy Mayfair is a professional golfer playing on the PGA Tour.  While at Arizona State University, Billy won the 1987 U.S. Amateur Championship.  Also while at Arizona State, Billy was the Sun Devils' first four-time All-American.  He was also the first golfer to win both the U.S. Public Links and the U.S. Amateur. In 1998, Mayfair decided to turn professional.

While on the PGA Tour, Billy has won only 5 events.  In 2004, he earned $503,251 which was not enough to make it back on the PGA Tour.  He was ranked 254th in the World Rankings.  However, Mayfair had a top-50 all time earnings exemption that he decided to use in 2005 to get back on the tour.

Through hard work and a few swing tweaks Mayfair has capitalized on his opportunity to continue playing on the tour.  Mayfair is well into the top-50 in the money list with $1,941,965 for 28th place this year.  He also has moved up to 77th place in the Official World Golf Rankings.
