Blaine T. Bettinger, Ph.D., J.D. is a expert in the field of genetic genealogy, haven given numerous lectures on using genetics to explore ancestry throughout the East Coast. He has been researching his own family for more than 20 years, and has been using genetic genealogy for more than 8 years.

Dr. Bettinger is the author of the popular ebook entitled "I Have The Results of My Genetic Genealogy Test, Now What?", which has been used by thousands of people to interpret the complicated results of genetic testing.

Dr. Bettinger has a Ph.D. in biochemistry with a concentration in genetics. After graduate school, he attended law school and now practices intellectual property law.

His own genetic tests have revealed that his maternal lineage, which has been traced back to Honduras in the 1830s, belongs to Haplogroup A, a Native American haplogroup. His paternal heritage, which is traced back to Germany in the 1770s, belongs to Haplogroup R1b1a2a1a1a3 (Null439), a continental European haplogroup.
