Founder and Managing Director of Consulting Intelligence

Bob Brown is a recognized authority on consultants, the consulting industry, the intelligent consulting management (ICM) approach and how organizations can get the best results from their consultants.  He is often described as "THE consultant on consultants" or "The chief of the consulting police."

Prior to retiring and then founding Consulting Intelligence, Bob was a senior consultant with IBM’s Business Consulting Services.  There he specialized in developing customer relationship management (CRM) implementation strategies for IBM's clients.  Most recently, Bob held the prestigious position of CRM Subject Matter Professional at IBM’s Strategic Envisioning Center while concurrently serving as a member of the Worldwide CRM Leadership Council.

In addition to his background in CRM, Bob's also an authority on consulting methods and a sought after speaker.  He lectured at customer education programs at IBM's Advanced Business Institute.  He trained fellow consultants on IBM’s proprietary consulting methods and service offerings at IBM Executive Consulting Institute locations in Asia, Europe and North America.  In addition to his consulting and internal education and training activities, Bob frequently represented IBM as a featured speaker at CRM and business process management conferences.

He's an active member of the Project Management Institute, the Institute of Management Consultants, the American College of Forensic Examiners and the National Speakers Association.  He is the author of the upcoming book, “Who’s Managing the Consultants?  A client’s guide to managing -- and maximizing the return from -- their consulting resources.”

Today he and his colleagues at Consulting Intelligence concentrate on sharing their expertise and providing advice and counsel to the clients of consultants and other professional services firms.  Specifically, they help those clients develop and implement programs to better manage their consulting and professional services resources.

Bob's frequently invited to speak to business groups and at industry events on the subjects of consultants, consulting and using intelligent consulting management principles to get the best results from your consultants.

Bob has over 30 years experience in all facets of business process optimization, systems development, information technology and telecommunications. In addition to his consulting experience at IBM, he held senior management and technical positions at Bank of Hawaii; Pacific TeleCommunications Council; VeriFone, Inc.; The Direct Connection Co., Inc.; and BOSE Corporation.
