Bob Harper

Personal Trainer & Former Host of "The Biggest Loser;" Heart Attack Survivor

Bob Harper is one of the most well- known fitness experts in the world thanks to his seventeen seasons as a trainer on NBC’s "The Biggest Loser," but his world came to a thundering halt when in 2017, at the age of 51, he suffered a heart attack. Naturally, the world wondered how such a paradigm of health and wellness could experience something so antithetical to his lifestyle. As it turns out, it came as a result of genetics—something no one can change—but it nevertheless served as a wake-up call to the guru.

Since then, Harper has redoubled his efforts to promote physical well-being to his millions of fans and beyond, but with an added emphasis on the almost 50% of Americans who have some form of heart disease — the leading cause of death in the United States. Harper will be the first to tell you that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is imperative for anyone wishing to have a long and fulfilling life—but unlike so many others, he backs it up with the tips, strategies, and habits proven to help shed weight and get audiences on the right track. Back and stronger than ever, Harper offers everyone a second chance at their future—the same gift he received.

Health and fitness expert, television star, and three-time #1 New York Times best-selling author Harper is one of the most successful lifestyle experts in the world. Having starred as a trainer on all 16 seasons of "The Biggest Loser," Harper brought his dynamic personality to the role of host on season 17. In February 2017, he took on the unexpected role of heart attack survivor. Harper’s experience gave him new purpose and since then, he’s made it his mission to not only educate about heart disease, but to bring together survivors, share their stories, and help them stay committed to lasting health.

Harper appears frequently as a health expert on Today and is a regular co-host on "The Rachael Ray Show." He worked with Michelle Obama on her “Let’s Move” campaign and has appeared on dozens of television shows including "Dr. Oz," "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,", "Larry King Live," "Oprah," "The Tonight Show," "Extra," "Access Hollywood Live," and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." Harper has traveled the country speaking to everyone from health care workers to corporations about how to motivate people to change their lives. His most recent book, "The Super Carb Diet," was released in December 2017.
