Bobby Clarke is a Hall of Fame Hockey player, best remembered for his role on the great Philadelphia Flyers teams of the mid-1970's.
Clarke was selected 17th by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round. Battling diabetes his whole career, the start of his professional career was especially rough. During Clarke's rookie training camp, he had two serious diabetic seizures. Frank Lewis, his coach drew up a complete dietary plan, which Bobby strictly followed for years to come and it helped his game.
Bobby Clarke's career stats are impressive. The former Philadelphia Flyers captain led the "Broadstreet Bullies" to Stanley Cup championships in 1974 and 1975. Clarke also captured numerous individual awards, including the Hart Trophy as the league's most valuable player in 1973, 1975 and 1976, and was a four-time All-Star.
Clarke is now the president and general manager of the Flyers.
