Bobby Seale

Political Activist & Co-Founder of the Black Panther Party

Bobby Seale is one of the last surviving architects of one of the most important social change movements in American and African American history. Taking to the stage with his lively, charismatic and activist eloquence, Seale illuminates the birth of the true sixties, the youthful intelligentsia of the Black Panther Party (BPP), and the unknown philosophical range of the sixties protest movement.

Seale transports his audiences back to the mini-civil-war turbulence of the late sixties and early seventies with images of hundreds of thousands of protesters and young black men and women selling hundred of thousands of "The Black Panther" newspapers with law books in their hands and "legal" guns handy for self defense against vicious, overt racist attacks at the time.

Defining himself as a "revolutionary humanist," Seale brings the 60's movement full circle showing how times have changed and how we must reach for the future, to evolve a greater direct community democracy, complete with profound cyber-space activism. He shows how all civil-rights issues today are interconnected and interrelated with environmental problems and global economics.

Seale has authored numerous publications, including Seize the Time (1970), A Lonely Rage (1978), Barbeque'n With Bobby Seale (1988), and Power to the People: The World of the Black Panthers.
