Bode Miller

Former World Cup Alpine Ski Racer; Olympic Gold Medalist & World Champion

Samuel Bode Miller is a World Cup alpine ski racer from the United States. He is an Olympic and World Championship gold medalist, a two-time overall World Cup champion in 2005 and 2008, and the most successful male American alpine ski racer of all time. Miller stands as the second most decorated Winter Olympic athlete in US history, having won six Olympic medals, including a gold, three silvers, and two bronze. He is also considered one of the greatest World Cup racers of all time, with 33 victories – the most by any American male and seventh most in the sport's history.

Notably, Miller is one of only two men to win a World Cup race in the four primary disciplines in a single season and one of only five men to win a race in all five alpine skiing disciplines in a career. In 2008, Miller and Lindsey Vonn won the overall World Cup titles for the first U.S. sweep in 25 years.

In his personal life, Miller is a father of eight and is married to former pro-beach volleyball player Morgan Beck. They spend much of their time with their family in Big Sky, MT. He has won six discipline World Cup titles and four World Championships titles in four different disciplines (giant slalom, combined, super-G, and downhill). On October 31, 2017, Miller announced his retirement from competition and was inducted into the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, Class of 2018.

Miller is also active in philanthropy, having co-founded the Turtle Ridge Foundation in 2005. The foundation focuses on supporting and empowering adaptive sports. He hosts two major fundraising events annually: BodeFest, a skiing event at Canon Mountain in the spring, and BodeBash, a golf and tennis event in Franconia, NH in the summer.
