South Korean Director & Screenwriter Known for "Parasite" and "Okja"

Bong Joon-ho is a South Korean award-winning film director and screenwriter. His films often feature dark comedy, sudden mood shifts and uncomfortable subject matter.

In 2019, Bong became the first Korean director to win the prestigious Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival when his film Parasite won the award.

In 2017, Bong was named #13 on the Metacritic list of Best Film Directors of the 21st Century.

His other films include the crime drama Memories Of Murder (2003), Okja (2017), the monster movie The Host (2006) and the sci-fi action film Snowpiercer (2013), with the latter two being among the highest-grossing films of all time in South Korea.

Critically acclaimed film director Quentin Tarantino once declared that "Bong Joon-ho is like Steven Spielberg in his prime."
